This antique Boy and Girl couple is all porcelain/bisque. The dolls are just 4.5" high and marked appropriately.
This is a delightful, matching pair of antique, jointed all-bisque , German manufactured , circa 1920s, dolls distributed by the George Borgfeldt firm. These finely designed and painted bisque dolls were originally produced in Germany between 1913 and 1921 , designed by Kate Jordan and sold through the famous Borgfeldt, New York firm. They are much harder to find than the later reproduced, Japanese models. Both dolls have chubby bodies with beautifully molded clothing, facial features and hair and perfect little, jointed bisque arms with tiny fingers. The 'Little Mister' is clearly stamped on his base: C in a circle. They will make excellent additions to an antique doll collection.
This beautiful set of 2 is in seemingly perfect condition with no chips, cracks or repairs -- no flaw that I can find. Their coloring remains bright and cheerful and they are sure to put a big smile on your face everytime you see them.
