Gorgeous 1950s Tiny Tears baby doll by American Character is the smallest size made standing just 11" high. She is the first issue Tiny Tears with the "Pat Pend" mark on the nape of her neck.
This lovely and most highly sought after size Tiny Tears comes to you in her "Miss Frances Ding Dong School" retail shoebox.
The little box holds Tiny Tears with her original glass nursing bottle; white diaper; and Tiny Tears pamphlet addressed to herself (not shown but included). I have added a little rattle to her display.
She comes dressed in the early pink dimity dress with matching bonnet and slip; and pink and white knit booties. Underneath are her white cotton knit 'big girl panties" and matching single-button undershirt. She also has her little flannel print kimono robe -- extremely rare to find in this size. The early dolls did not come with the later signature "Tiny Tears" romper, but I have added one here as that is the one most of us remember from our childhood.
Baby Tiny Tears has a her original hands down rubber body with NO CRAZING, no cracks, no creases, no problems. You will note that it is a lighter color than the very first production runs of the Tiny Tears dolls, as this is the updated rubber American Character was constantly updating the material used to make them.
She has a high color beautiful 'porcelain looking' face with NO FLAWS. There are no rubs to the paint. Her brown molded curls are near perfect. She has lovely clear blue eyes with full and even brush lashes; they open and close perfectly. These early eyes are made of metal, where the later issues were plastic; this gives them clear, bright whites and sparkling eyes.
Very very hard to find this issue Tiny Tears in such amazing condition.
