A Beautiful Little Tiny Tears from the 1950s — Ready for a New Home!
What a delightful little treasure from the golden age of American baby dolls!
Offered is a particularly beautiful 11-inch American Character Tiny Tears, dating to the mid-1950s, accompanied by her original pink dress ensemble, a wonderful collection of additional clothing, and an adorable vintage Margaret Holbrooke suitcase.
 
And what a lovely little baby she is!
Her exceptionally pretty face features a beautifully preserved, softly colored complexion, rosy cheeks, molded brown hair, and sparkling blue eyes framed by full brush lashes.
This is the later 1950s Tiny Tears issue with conventional open-and-close sleep eyes, introduced before the fascinating Rock-A-Bye Eyes version, whose eyes responded to the gentle rocking motion of a cradle.
 
Of particular interest to collectors, this issue features American Character's newer color-infused facial complexion, replacing the earlier applied facial coloring that was so susceptible to wear.
Finding one of these little babies with such beautifully preserved facial features is increasingly difficult!

Her Original Pink Outfit
Tiny Tears comes dressed in her charming original updated pink dress ensemble, a later variation of the classic Tiny Tears pink outfit. Included are her pink dress, matching panties, and bonnet, complemented by a pair of added soft white rubber shoes from the 1950s. The pretty pink-and-white dress features delicate trim and a full skirt — just perfect for showing off her beautiful little face!

And because every little baby needs a wardrobe, we've included a delightful assortment of vintage clothing for dressing Tiny throughout the day.
 
A PARTICULARLY SPECIAL LITTLE OUTFIT!
Among her additional clothing is an absolutely darling pair of pink corduroy baby overalls, complete with an appliquéd decoration and a pale blue shirt...But look closely — these are no ordinary miniature overalls!
 
Just like the real corduroy overalls worn by babies and toddlers in the 1950s, these little pants feature working snaps extending from ankle to ankle, allowing them to open for easy diaper changes! And the little blue shirt actually buttons onto the bib of the overalls, another marvelous detail borrowed from real children's clothing. Such thoughtful miniature construction is a delight to discover. In all our years of handling vintage doll clothing, we have rarely encountered such an unusual and practical feature in an outfit this tiny!

Completing this wonderful collection is a charming Margaret Holbrooke child's suitcase, decorated with an adorable little lamb carrying flowers, bluebirds, butterflies, and other cheerful nursery illustrations. The suitcase is clean, with a working latch, and provides a delightful place to store Tiny Tears and her extensive wardrobe. A lovely display piece in its own right!
