Vintage Ideal Toy Co. composition 'mama' baby doll with her working crier. Approx. 19" with her original dress and slip. Added bloomers, bonnet, and booties.
I do not know the name of this particular Ideal baby doll, but she is marked on the nape of her neck; I have seen her is larger sizes over the last 30 years. She certainly reflects the look of the later issue Betsy Wetsy of the 1950s does she not?
She is stunning, and in beautiful condition with no crazing at all; some small paint wear; and immaculately clean. Her crier is nice and loud :-) The composition is smooth and vibrant.
She wears her original white cotton dotted swiss dress with embroidered bodice accents. Closes at the back with two tiny white buttons. Dress in excellent condition with a couple of 'pindot' size marks, one on the right sleeve, and one in the folds of her dress.
Her bonnet was nowhere to be found, and has been replaced with one that is a nice compliment.
She is amazing to look at, and will command your attention with her beautiful bright blue eyes. Eyes are clear and retain all her natural brush lashes, thick and even.
This is a harder to find issue of the Ideal composition dolls, in this display ready condition.
