This is one of several sizes made of this most highly sought after baby doll -- this is the FAMOUS Ideal baby doll who Natalie Wood cuddled in the movie -- The Miracle on 34th Street All of us grew up watching this film and came away with "I Believe" no matter what age we were at the time. A warm reminder that our pure, childhood thoughts and dreams are worthwhile.
This is a GORGEOUS, fully restored Baby! These dolls were made by Ideal Toy Co and marketed under the name "Baby Beautiful". They came in a wide range of sizes as well as with blue eyes, or brown eyes; as they were marketed by some large retailers like Montgomery Ward and Sears, some of the dolls were marked Ideal and some were not, as this one is not. Baby Beautiful is GORGEOUS and comes with a gorgeous same period outfit; not 'mint' but quite lovely. There is a vintage Molly'es TAGGED white cotton organdy dress, bonnet, slip and newly made pink silk crochet booties . Her coat is a baby pink cotton and wool viyella with delicate roses embroidered along the opening; and a pretty pink silk bonnet to match.
The dress set has only minor signs of its age with no stains or tears or weakness. A single silk bonnet tie is shortened. She wears a pair of Ideal pantaloons that are slighly too small at the waist but fit otherwise well. Surely you can see her body is quite worn and stained, especially alongside her pristine limbs and head. When received this "Dear One" had her head glued to her body in some misquided attempt to restore her... the Miracle is that our famed restorer managed to reattach with great effort after removing all signs of adhesive. Her head stays on nicely but football and contact sports are not in her future.

Baby has lovely, clear sparkling BLUE eyes that open and close perfectly, and have a full complement of brush lashes on one side and a full sweep on the other with some slight thinning to the outer area... very hard to notice. I would have given her a bright and clean new 'skin' but shipping being what it is over the holiday season, my supplier was not able to get one here in time for Baby's debut. We can order one for her if buyer would like.
These dolls are very hard to find in this condition in any size... WOULDN'T SHE be a FABULOUS GIFT?
