Vintage 1940s Sunsuit Set made expressley for the Effanbee Dy-Dee Lou baby doll.
 
One of a few lovingly made sunsuit sets for some lucky little girl's baby doll. This set, along with 2 others, was part of a trunk layette I acquired many years ago. Each were designed and superbly tailored to fit the 20" Dy-Dee baby doll.  Handmade layette items that are the true treasures of the Dy-Dee layettes, where no two are alike and because handwork was the pride of our ancestors they were generally exquisite creations all on their own. A trunk filled with factory and homemade layette items made each little girl's doll wardrobe unique and exciting.
 
This darling set is a bathing suit/sunsuit and a matching overdress in the cutest whimsical pattern. It is made of fine crisp cotton, with bakelite round buttons. The belt doubles around twice and buttons at the front at the waist.
 
You will marvel at the sewing expertise and appreciate how nice this set truly is when modeled on your own sweet baby doll.
