Darling vintage Betsy Wetsy doll from the 1930s, this is an early edition of the Ideal Toy Co. doll that was so popular for a few decades. One of the first 'drink-and-wet' baby dolls that was designed to nurture young girls' motherly instincts.

This sweet baby is a lovely example, and comes in her original travel case with all her original outfits -- short pink batiste dress with matching bonnet and slip; yellow batiste long gown with matching bonnet, slip, and 'onesie' type underwear; 2 flannel diapers, undershirt, pink cotton crochet botties, blue flannel kimono robe, print flannel short kimono jacket; and pink cotton playsuit. Betsy has a perfectly sized replaced rubber body that is soft and even toned in excellent condition. Her joints are firm and pose nicely. She has beautiful brown glassene eyes with full, thick and even lashes; her pupils are clear and the whites are bright... these give her soul a light to shine givng her a beautiful countenance. Her head has vibrant coloring and all painted features are intact. There is a chip in the paint at the back of her head and one on her right side that are sealed.
Her travel case has wear; the graphics inside are precious; the original cardboard mount for her clothing is there as well. I added a powder canister and some gauze, and will include her little nursing bottle to soothe her on her trip home to you.
This lovely baby girl will fit in any nursery either in a cabinet or sitting by one of her bigger friends contentedly.
