Sweet Little Blondie...
What an exceptionally lovely little Patsy Babykin — with her softly molded blonde curls, enormous green eyes and those wonderful chubby drawn-up baby legs that give these early Babykins so much personality.
This precious little one is an ALL ORIGINAL Effanbee Patsy Babykin, dating from the 1930s, and she has survived more than 90 years in remarkably beautiful condition.
And perhaps best of all...
Her original wardrobe has survived with her!
From her pretty little dress and matching pink coat and bonnet right down to her original slip, undershirt and diaper, this baby retains the wonderful clothing that belonged with her so many decades ago.
Babykin herself is simply beautiful.
Her composition remains a lovely, fresh overall pink with the delicate original coloring and accents still visible on her little body and belly. Her blonde molded hair is beautifully defined, and she has the sweetest rosy cheeks and tiny painted mouth.
NO CRAZING.
There are just a couple of light paint rubs at several of her joints — remarkably little evidence of play for a baby of this age.
Her beautiful green sleep eyes are ORIGINAL, including their original irises, and she retains a wonderful full line of original lashes. The lashes are just slightly sparse toward the center of her right eye, mentioned for accuracy.
NO REPAINTS, REPAIRS OR RESTORATIONS.
Turn her over and you'll find her clearly marked:
EFFANBEE
PATSY BABY
She is the irresistible infant version of Babykin with those wonderful drawn-up bent legs — beautifully sculpted little legs and feet that make her look as though she has only just been picked up from her crib.
And then there is her wardrobe...
Her delicate white dress is trimmed in pink and edged with lace, and over it she wears her darling original pink coat. She has both her original pink bonnet and the wonderful little sheer ruffled bonnet shown in the photographs, along with her original slip, undershirt and diaper.
I've added a pair of sweet vintage pink socks and a vintage BABY bracelet — little extras that seemed made for her.
Also included is the lovely vintage Esmond "eiderdown" bunny blanket shown in the photographs. Soft white with its wonderful baby-blue design and satin edging, it makes the perfect little blanket for displaying your Babykin.
This is one of those dolls whose photographs really do tell the story.
Undressed, you can see exactly how beautiful and remarkably well preserved her composition is. Dressed in her original layette, she becomes the sweetest little 1930s baby imaginable.
ALL ORIGINAL DOLL.
ORIGINAL EYES & LASHES.
ORIGINAL WARDROBE.
NO CRAZING.
NO REPAINTS, REPAIRS OR RESTORATIONS.
A wonderfully preserved example of one of Effanbee's most endearing little babies — and one who still looks ready to be tucked into her blanket and put down for her afternoon nap.
Sweet dreams, Little Blondie...
