Vintage 1930s Effanbee Patsy BABYKIN — Blonde Bent-Leg Baby — ORIGINAL LAYETTE + Extras
 
Such a beautiful little Babykin — with a wardrobe all her own~
This precious early Effanbee Patsy Babykin is the desirable infant version with the wonderful drawn-up bent legs, blonde molded hair and the sweetest little baby face.
 
And what a face she has!
Her beautiful green sleep eyes are clear and bright, with a lovely full line of lashes on both eyes. The lashes on her left eye are quite short, but they are there — not missing — while those on her right remain longer and more readily visible.
 
Her delicate original brows, softly blushed cheeks and tiny rosebud mouth give her an especially gentle expression. Her blonde molded hair retains lovely color and definition.
 
She also wears her wonderful little metal Effanbee PATSY BABYKIN heart bracelet at her wrist.
 
A Wonderful Original Babykin Wardrobe
One of the special pleasures of this little girl is the amount of original Babykin clothing that has remained with her.
 
Included are her:
Original sheer white dress with delicate pink ribbon trim 
Original matching bonnet 
Original slip with attached panties 
Original undershirt 
Original diaper 
Original floral romper
 
The little floral romper gives her an entirely different look — she is absolutely adorable wearing it and cuddling her bunny!
 
Also included is a lovely vintage Effanbee layette sweater and matching bonnet. These are genuine Effanbee pieces and are beautifully suited to her; however, I cannot confirm that this particular knit set was originally marketed specifically for Babykin.
 
Her tiny crocheted moccasin-style booties were lovingly handmade by an acquaintance of mine and look as though they were made just for her.
 
And tucked beneath all of this is her wonderful Effanbee Esmond “eiderdown” blanket, completing a very special little nursery presentation.
 
Condition
Babykin remains in beautiful original condition with NO REPAINTING, REPAIRS OR RESTORATION.
 
Her original composition retains wonderful color and a particularly lovely facial finish. There is very light, fine under-paint crazing, primarily on her arms and legs, with comparatively little on her head.
There are a few tiny areas of paint loss at the tips of several fingers. These are so slight that I have deliberately chosen to leave them untouched rather than disturb her wonderful originality. There are also some small rubs/paint loss to the back of her molded hair, as shown clearly in the photographs.
 
Please study all of the photos, including those showing Babykin in her little undershirt and diaper. I have photographed her carefully so that you can see both how beautifully she displays and the minor signs of age that remain after nearly 90 years.
 
Her body is clearly impressed EFFANBEE Patsy Baby on both the nape of her neck and on the back.
 
This is such an appealing example of the early infant Babykin — blonde molded hair, beautiful green eyes, drawn-up baby legs, her Effanbee heart bracelet, and a wonderful little wardrobe of original Babykin clothing that has somehow remained with her through all these years.
 
Dress her in her delicate white finery... bundle her into her Effanbee knit sweater and bonnet... or put her back into her sweet little floral romper with bunny tucked under her arm.
