Oh, what a SWEET little Babykin!
 
And beneath all those pretty clothes is a wonderful surprise — one of the nicest little composition Babykin bodies we have seen in quite some time.
 
This darling early Effanbee Patsy Babykin is the precious infant version with the desirable drawn-up bent baby legs, wonderfully molded little hands and feet, and that unmistakable round Babykin tummy.
 
She has such a lovely face, with clear blue-green sleep eyes, delicate lashes, softly blushed cheeks, tiny painted mouth and beautifully molded hair.
 
But take off her clothes and look at that body!
 
Her composition body is exceptionally beautiful — smooth, clean and without crazing. She has been nicely and firmly strung and poses beautifully, whether sitting up for her portrait or curled into one of those wonderful baby poses that make these early Babykins so endearing.
 
And Baby has quite a wardrobe!
Her beautiful original Effanbee dress is made from an exceptionally fine, lightweight Pima cotton — almost ethereal in its delicacy — with tiny puffed sleeves, a little Peter Pan collar and rows of exquisite pink smocking across the bodice.
 
And wait until you see the back...
The dress fastens with the tiniest little buttons imaginable, each secured through a minute pink silk loop. The workmanship and scale are simply wonderful — the sort of tiny detail that makes these early doll clothes such a delight to collectors.
 
Also original to her are her slip, little knit undershirt and diaper; and a nice soft 'eiderdown' Esmond Bunny blanket all her own to cuddle with and keep her warm.
 
For going out, Baby has a lovely vintage soft pink rayon coat, beautifully embroidered in pale blue. The coat is not an original Effanbee garment but was made from a Dy-Dee baby pattern and is absolutely charming on her.
 
Her embroidered white vintage bonnet and pink knit booties are also added vintage pieces and complete the ensemble beautifully.
And when bedtime finally arrives, she even has a whimsical vintage drawstring nightie printed with colorful little nursery figures — along with a pink knit tasseled nightcap, and a tiny teddy bear to keep her company.
 
CONDITION
This is a particularly lovely Babykin who displays beautifully.
 
Her body is outstanding, with beautiful smooth composition and no crazing. She is firmly strung and holds her poses nicely.
 
Her head has just a few scattered, very light craze lines. There have also been a couple of small areas of paint loss which have been carefully diminished with matched paint. We mention these for accuracy; they do not detract from the overall sweetness of this little girl's appearance.
 
Her molded hair retains lovely definition, and her face is just precious, with wonderful coloring and clear sleep eyes.
 
Please look carefully at all of our photographs, including Baby completely undressed. We always like you to see exactly what is underneath those pretty clothes — and in this case, there is an especially beautiful little Babykin underneath!
 
She is an enchanting example of Effanbee's beloved little baby, dressed with enough lovely things to make changing her almost irresistible.
