Vintage 1930s Effanbee Dy-Dee Lou Dress Layette Set -- featuring a very RARE Dy-Dee Lou layette SILK kimono jacket, with matching cap and pram/crib blanket; AND, a gorgeous crisp white organdy smocked dress to complete the ensemble.
 
This fabulous silk layette set has been sitting quietly nestled in my very best Effanbee Dy-Dee Lou 3-drawer trunk for more than 20 years now... time to let some of my very favorites go... 
 
The set is a beautiful shade of light baby pink. EACH of the 3-pieces have tiny rosebud appliques to match. As silk tends to do, there are a few places on the jacket fabric that separated; I have reinforced these small separations to stabilize and can now freely dress Dy-Dee Lou without concern. There are also a few very light age-related spots, but minimal, of course. The beauitful 'hand' and sheen to the fabric is breathtaking.
 
Paired with this set is one of my very favorite Dy-Dee Lou FAO Schwarz dresses! Made of crisp white cotton organdy with smocking across the breast and buttons at the back. Underneath is a crisp white cotton slip. I did make a small repair to the smocking on the right side, but largely invisible.
 
This DRESS is featured on one of my Dy-Dee Lou dolls photographed in my Dollyology Vintage Dolls website banner. As a bonus I WILL INCLUDE the bonnet that is featured in the photo with the dress as well... it, too, features embroidered rosebuds and is exquisite.
 
Set may not be pristine and 'perfect'... but perfectly lovely, and RARE and special with only minor age related condition.
