Vintage extremely rare HERTEL SCHWAB & CO. GERMAN  BABY SKIPPY -- the earliest PATSY Baby FAMILY DOLL. He has a bisque dome head with blue glass eyes, molded blond hair, chubby rosy cheeks, and a 'drawn up bow mouth... super adorable!
 
This rare Patsy Family doll was made by thé Hertel Schwab co. in Germany and is the earliest 'Patsy Baby' doll made. It was called Baby Skippy and then later Patsy Baby. He/she has the original Effanbee Patsy Baby composition body. His bisque head appears to have been sealed at the back, where there was a small hairline; nicely matched and well done. Marked 126 Germany.
 
This VERY SELDOM SEEN Baby Skippy is 10 inches tall. His bisque dome head has one of the sweetest expressions that will melt your heart.
 
Baby Skippy has molded blond hair with an open mouth and two upper teeny-tiny teeth. All painted features are intact. The blue glass eyes open and close for awake/asleep; the wax 'lid' on one eye has rubbed off, but not noticeable unless laying down asleep.
 
Baby is firmly strung and poseable, wear his/her ORIGINAL DRESS, added replaced crochet bonnet, original diaper, and newly made crochet booties. The little dress is recognizable as a Patsy classic and pins at the back; I note there are a couple of very light marks on the dress, but I did not wash it and feel confident a gentle wash will make all good again.
 
Baby's composition body has NO crazing and just a wee bit of paint wear at the joints.
