EXCEPTIONALLY RARE Early 1930s Effanbee PATSY BABYKIN Painted-Eye TWINS — Two Body Styles, Original Clothing & Extensive Layette!

~Offered together as one complete collection~

TWO LITTLE TREASURES FROM THE EARLIEST YEARS OF EFFANBEE'S BELOVED PATSY FAMILY!

What an extraordinary opportunity to welcome not one, but TWO exceptionally rare early Patsy Babykin dolls into your collection!

These precious little girls represent the earliest painted-eye version of Effanbee's approximately 10-inch Patsy Babykin, dating to the early 1930s. Over many years of collecting and specializing in the Patsy family, I have encountered only a very small handful of examples of these elusive early babies... And here they are — TWO together!

Even more remarkable, these little sisters represent TWO DIFFERENT BODY STYLES: one with the wonderfully realistic drawn-up legs of a young baby, and the other with the straighter legs of a slightly older child. Their charming differences make them particularly appealing when displayed together.

THESE TWO LITTLE GIRLS BELONG TOGETHER, AND THEY ARE BEING OFFERED AS ONE VERY SPECIAL COLLECTION.

TWO BEAUTIFUL EARLY PAINTED-EYE BABYKINS

Both little girls have the enchanting early Patsy Babykin faces, with beautifully molded curls, vivid blue painted eyes, delicately arched brows, softly rounded cheeks, and tiny red rosebud mouths.

Their expressions are simply irresistible!

Although their faces are remarkably similar, each has her own distinct personality. One seems to be quietly contemplating the world, while her sister appears to have something very important to say!

Both dolls are clearly marked on the nape of the neck and on the back, identifying these charming little survivors from Effanbee's early production. Their different body constructions are especially interesting to collectors of the Patsy family and are carefully illustrated in the photographs.

A WONDERFUL COLLECTION OF ORIGINAL AND VINTAGE CLOTHING

These little girls arrive with a delightful assortment of clothing and accessories, thoughtfully assembled to create a charming miniature nursery.

Of particular importance are their original dresses, so seldom encountered with these early painted-eye babies.

The collection includes beautiful white dresses with delicate embroidery and lace, charming bonnets, additional little dresses, soft sleeping garments, and an assortment of accessories.

Among my favorite pieces are the precious little robes — one in soft pink, the other white with blue trim and colorful floral embroidery. There are also knitted booties, tiny undergarments, and other nursery necessities.

A particularly appealing addition is the lovely pink bassinet, beautifully dressed in soft pink dotted Swiss fabric with delicate lace and ruffles.

The extensive wardrobe provides wonderful opportunities to dress, display, and enjoy these two little girls in a variety of charming ensembles.

Please examine all the photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description and illustrate the clothing and accessories included in this collection.

CONDITION — AN HONEST LOOK AT TWO RARE SURVIVORS

Both dolls retain their wonderful early molded features and beautifully expressive painted eyes.

As one would expect of composition dolls approaching a century in age, there are differences in their surface finishes and evidence of their long lives.

The toddler Babykin displays some irregularity in her composition finish, including areas of subtle surface dimpling and fine age-related surface crazing, particularly noticeable on the back of her torso and upper legs. These characteristics are illustrated in the photographs.

The baby Babykin (with the drawn-up legs) has had careful restoration to the two middle fingers of her left hand. This restoration is disclosed for accuracy and is illustrated in the photographs. Her toddler sister has not had this particular repair.

Their condition is presented openly, with photographs of the dolls both dressed and undressed, so collectors may appreciate their construction and examine the composition surfaces.

Most importantly, these two exceptionally scarce early Babykins retain the captivating faces, vivid painted eyes, and delightful individuality that make them such desirable members of Effanbee's beloved Patsy family.

A RARE OPPORTUNITY FOR THE SERIOUS PATSY COLLECTOR

Finding even one of these early painted-eye Babykins is a special occasion.

Finding two together, representing different body styles, accompanied by original clothing, an extensive additional wardrobe, and a beautifully appointed little nursery, is an opportunity I am delighted to offer.

They have been lovingly brought together and presented as a pair, and I would very much like to see them remain together.

These two little girls are ready to bring a wonderful piece of early American doll history into their next home.
