RARE Circa 1927 Effanbee Black African American GrumpyKins Baby Doll
 
Sweetest little African American Baby GrumpyKins (Baby Grumpy) baby is just 10 1/2" high... perfect fit to slip into anyone's collection for "just one more..."
 
Impish and diminutive, this rare little doll is NEARLY MINT with only a couple of stray lines of crazing to mark her 90+ years. NO RESTORATIONS or REPAINTS, this doll is ALL ORIGINAL. She wears her original dress and onesie undergarment, shoes and socks.
 
Grumpykins face and hair just GLOW. Three darling little black braids are tied with their original red silk ribbons. Side-glancing HEART painted pupil eyes give her personality some shine... as she checks to see if you will spy her grabbing just one more cookie out of the jar. All painted features are intact and perfect.
 
This is the composition limb doll with cloth torso; she was also issued with a stuffed 'toddler' version of this classic baby doll that was not as popular among collectors.
 
Her compo parts have only a couple of very light craze lines to show her almost 100 years of age.  Her cloth body is immaculately clean with no signs of play wear or fading. Her braids are all original and still tied with original red ribbons. She is wearing her ORIGINAL dress and matching 'onesie'. Her dress still vibrant red whimsical print and unfaded. She is marked on her shoulder head Effanbee / Dolls/ Walk Talk Sleep.
