A darling pair of nearly all original 1925 Vintage Horsman 10" HEbee SHEbee all composition dolls.
Rare Set of two -- one boy and one girl -- in complete original RARE 4-piece matching outfits -- on.e pink and one blue. Each outfit is TAGGED with the EARLY Horsman cloth tags at the back of their dresses. Note, too, that the pink one has a red tag, and the blue one has a blue tag. Additionally, the bonnets, short slips, and dresses have the 'factory inspection' tags sewn in the seams. AND, last but not least, each has the original factory decal sticker on the bottom of one shoe stating absolutely their origins. Sticker reads: Copyrighted 1925 / HEbee SHEbee Trademark / Charles H. Twelvetrees; note that the stickers are in mint condition.
This is an AMAZING find and I would doubt you will ever see such a fabulous set in a lifetime. RARELY were these little ones received 'dressed'. Rather, they were produced and sold in their painted outfits as you see them here 'nakie'. Their painted shirts and shoes are MINT... again, a rarity to find two in such perfect condition.
As found, these two little darlings were in mint condition, except for their heads which have been completely and professionally restored to their original look, feel and features. Everything else is completely original 'down to their shoes' as they say. Their shoes have a metal loop/hole where a ribbon tie can be carefully threaded; these two babies have never had ribbons in the shoes as 3 out of the 4 holes are still plugged with the original paint... easily remedied if one chose to add ties.
Their matching outfits have some fading, and a few pinholes in the organdy under garments. They have their original silk ribbon bonnet ties.
They are poseable with swivel head, jointed arms and legs.These dolls were based on drawings of Charles Twelvetrees in the PICTORIAL REVIEW and were produced by Horsman during the 1925 to 1927 era.If you would like to have dolls in your collection that make you smile when you look at them then these dolls are for you.
