VERY RARE Platinum Blonde caracul baby -- very hard to find!!
She is a medium-sized Tiny Tears made in the early 1950s, measuring approx. 13" -- the most popular size for a young child to hold -- this is a baby Tiny Tears with the hands-down vinyl body and pretty green eyes. She was made circa 1951 or 1952. This baby is NOT to be missed if you want to own a piece of doll history ... Her coloring is exquisite.
Tiny Tears is appropriately marked on the back of her neck 'Pat Pend / American Char'. Her coloring is classic and lovely. Beautiful platinum blonde curls adorn her little head -- thick, full curls with no shedding. Her face is a rich, warm color that only the earliest dolls have -- original blush on her cheeks still there -- brows and under lashes well-defined and clear pretty green eyes with full brush lashes, are even and thick; well-fitted.
EXCELLENT Tiny Tears who has been stored for almost 75 years -- all alone and waiting for you to take her home!
The rubber body on a Tiny Tears is the biggest source of concern when making the decision to purchase. This baby's rubber body was badly deteriorated, and has been replaced with a genuine and identical American Character Tiny Tears vinyl body in mint condition. this means that it is strong, with no crazing ever, even coloring and all fingers and toes are there -- no fear dressing and redressing this baby -- she is ready for play!

After examining your new baby carefully, you will delight in her original clothing: Hard to find pale blue dimity dress and matching bonnet; original white cotton full slip; white single-button knit undershirt, soft white flannel triangle diaper (rare early one... later issued in birds eye weave); VERY RARE flannel floral BABY BUNNIES themed kimono robe; and original pink-and-white booties. All items pictured are included.
Baby's dress is in excellent condition...fresh and lovely, with a small 'invisible' mend on the back at the second buttonhole.
I have added a darling sunny yellow smocked cotton coat with matching wide-brimmed bonnet; underneath I've paired it with one of my favorite 'mommy-made' white cotton dresses with French val lace and embroidered flowers -- this dress was made from a popular doll pattern in the 1940s/1950s. Years ago I used to make replacement slips for my dolly dresses; I found this one hidden away in my sewing basket... I love the shadow print pattern to give it a more feminine feel.
