RARE 1940s Vintage 11″ Effanbee Dy-Dee Ellen Baby Doll
with Original Layette & Display Case — A Cherished Piece of History
A truly special little Dy-Dee, preserved with remarkable care and complete with her original layette and display case — a joyful keepsake from a cherished era of American doll making.
This sweet baby’s shining, high-color facial features remain beautifully intact, giving her an expression that still warms the heart. She has pretty green glassene eyes framed by her full complement of thick, natural brush lashes. Baby's tiny inset rubber ears are perfect (!!) -- soft and flexible with no cracks or crazing. Her brown molded curls show only a few tiny rubs, adding gentle character without detracting from her overall fresh presence.
Her soft, supple, craze-free body is in lovely condition. The arm joints are firm and pose just as they should; her left leg is slightly looser — typical for dolls of this age — and will pose sweetly in any display. The little plug in her backside is currently missing, but rest assured it will be replaced before she journeys home to you.
