Amazing, high color 1940s jointed Walt Disney PINOCCHIO by Ideal Toy Co.
 
...love him and perhaps he will become a 'real boy' someday. He's wonderful... a keen reminder to us all that to tell a lie has consequences (hopefully not a nose growing with each fib). EVERY doll cabinet has room for this little guy to serve as a reminder to the rest of your nursery family to behave and tell no lies.
 
I have MATCHED THIS GUY UP with his little friend the Tuxedo Cat FIGARO by PELHAM PUPPETS --from the Pinocchio movie by Disney from the 1950s.
 
Hard to find in such great condition. Pinocchio is ALL ORIGINAL with no restoration / repaint, and stands approx. 11" tall. He is missing his little felt fedora hat. His paint is high color and amazingly has come through his many decades with only a few chips to his paint -- surely largely intact.
 
His head and body are of composition, and limbs are wooden and jointed for posing. His head and legs can hold a pose, but the arm are loose enough to prevent that activity... not sure that he ever did though.
 
I see the tinest few lines of crazing at the back of his head; otherwise I see no CRAZING on this little Fella'. He retains his once navy blue bow tie... now faded to that purplish color that blue so often goes the way of. His front graphics label reads: "PInocchio" / DES & ©️Walt Disney / MADE BY IDEAL NOVELTY & TOY CO
 
The nape of his neck is marked: ©PWDP / IDEAL DOLL CO / MADE IN USA

Marked Knickerbocker, ©1939. Back of head has raised "Pinocchio" and Knickerbocker names.
 
His shoes are black wool felt uppers and brown velveteen soles; the shortalls are cinnamon wool felt with two jazzy yellow celluloid buttons; and his onesie style shirt is a pretty blue cotton. His clothes show very, very light soiling from his now 90 years... imagine a boy keeping his clothes this clean for so long!!
 
This little fella' here is in prime condition and I have never seen one in such vivid color and smooth composition... the absolute finest example of this rare little boy doll I have ever seen presented.
