Photogenic and Gorgeous... 14" Baby Princess Beatrix in wonderful condition... not perfect, but surely perfectly lovely and ready to join your family.
Played with condition, with only intermittent crazing to her arms and legs. Her sweet little face has some light crazing and her BLUE eyes have darkened a bit but they are clear... my camera just wouldn't do them justice. The lashes are gone . She is far better 'in hand' than my photos show. She has a small nick on the underside of one baby finger; and paint wear at her feet where her original socks and oilcloth shoes remained for so long. I gave her a new pair of silk booties to make her smile again.
But, OH is she not beautiful???

I had never seen the 14" sized Beatrix until I came upon one a few years ago. I "knew" she had to exist because I had the RADIO STYLE Music Box carry CASE for a few years that originally held this size Beatrix; I sold that little one in the case... and now I find another to offer once again.

Presenting PRINCESS BEATRIX of the NETHERLANDS
Some dolls are just naturally photogenic like some people. This little Princess Beatrix steals my heart with her fetching poses. Made by Ideal in 1938 to commemorate the birth of the Netherland's own Princess Beatrix -- she is named for the daughter of Queen Wilhelmina of Holland. Baby is correctly marked Ideal / Made in U.S.A. on the nape of her neck. Molded dark brown hair; non-working crier; composition head, arms and legs. Factory sized at 14" she is one of a group of sizes ranging from 14"-26" produced at that time. All but this one -- the smallest -- have the flirty eyes.
Her eyes are original.. There are NO restorations or repairs at all. The eye mechanism functions smoothly. Her human hair lashes are now absent.
Princess Beatrix is just 14" and has creamy alabaster skin tone with a rosebud mouth and beautifully blushed cheeks; gorgeous dark molded curly hair -- excellent condition! Her composition is fabulous with little to no craze lines anywhere to her head, arms, molded hair, and legs -- your eyes are drawn to hers and then she mesmerizes you with her artful poses. Beatrix's cloth body is clean, with no odors, or tears... remember this sweet little baby is over 80 years old!!
She has lovely sculpting of her arms and legs -- chubby legs lend itself to endearing baby features. She has a non-working crier in her tummy.
Ideal advertised this doll as "A popular new baby princess in doll form! Here is a doll that is truly a baby doll. It has the softest and cuddliest body that Ideal has ever produced -- Beatrix's arms and legs are so jointed that they will fall backward or forward just like those of a real baby
-- her tiny fists are clenched like the fists of a newborn baby. Princess Beatrix can sit up or lie down, just as a real baby would in any pose, with one foot in her mouth or with her hands beneath her head -- or almost any other position a baby can take."
Princess Beatrix's crisp, pure cotton organdy dress and bonnet with replaced cotton slip, and creamy white rayon knit pantaloons and matching undershirt are ALL ORIGINAL. This outfit is in minty condtion except a hand sewn separation at one part of the hem, which I left well enough alone as it is not distracting. I have added a lovely pair of booties to complete her outfit.
BEST of all... she comes with a RARE Molly'es soft cotton twill coat with matching bonnet in mint condition. Tagged. Suits this Little Miss perfectly! Very special.
I have had a range of sizes in the Princess Beatrix doll, but this little beauty is a lovely size for your collection, and ready to be displayed perhaps sitting in her own little chair, or draped softly against an elegant pillow on your bed.
