This little beauty does not come around but once in a Blue Moon, and found in her original retail box with her original clothes... "over the top".
Betsy was issued from the 1930s through the early 1960s. This is her original conception designed by Bernard Lipfert, the infamous creator of some of the most life-like and hence very popular dolls of that era. Simply stunning.
Betsy Wetsy here was produced at the same time as the hey-day of Dy-Dee by Effanbee. They have similar attributes and were both extremely well-received by little girls for play and nurturing. Betsy Wetsy is a drink-and-wet baby doll, and includes her ORIGINAL IDEAL marked GLASS NURSING BOTTLE (needs nipple). She has a REPLACED rubber body that is in mint condition, soft and supple. All joints move smoothly; the body is a perfect fit replacement in size and proportion.
Betsy Wetsy has a vibrant, high-color face with dark chocolate molded curls. All facial features are intact. Betsy has dark brown eyes with full, thick and even brush lashes; her eyes open and close with no receding and smoothly. There are NO RUBS to her face at all... any perceived rubs are flashback from the camera. Only a few scant rubs to the paint on her lovely brown curly head.
Betsy's dress, bonnet and slip had never been laundered and was in crisp unused condition, but was soiled enough to prompt a good cleaning and pressing, and she is presented now as you see her... clean and ready for display. She has her original robe in mint condition, and soft pink 'eiderdown' bunting with pink bakelite button closure.
I have added a gorgeous salmon pink cotton wale coat and bonnet set with beautiful embroidered flower and French cotton val lace trim. This set is a collector's favorite and always well made with love and care.
Her original display box is in good condition with some separation to the box, etc but still a great display and sturdy.
