RARE --1930s Effanbee SUGAR BABY 24" Composition Doll in her original Effanbee factory outfit
 
This is a wonderful 24" Effanbee SUGAR Baby composition and cloth doll from the 1930's. She comes with NO CRAZING dressed in her original pink cotton lawn 'flounce collar' dress, with matching slip and bonnet; original white flannel undershirt, and replaced bloomers and new silk booties.  Outfit is in excellent condition; I have refreshed the elastic in the puff sleeves to give them the 'bounce' they require for a 'baby, baby' look. All ribbons are original. Only very minor wear to the outfit at all.
 
There is the early EFFANBEE TAG in the back seam of the dress.

This FABULOUS doll is in excellent original factory condition and no crazing, but for her replaced irises. Two finger-tips had paint wear and have been color-matched and sealed to ensure stability.. very hard to see as the work is well done. Lovely blonde molded curls are just about perfect.
 
She looks SO LOVELY, and if you are planning to display this sweet girl, she will no doubt be a nice PRIZE for your nursery shelf~
 
Sugar Baby has a composition head and limbs  The oilcloth body is clean and still very nice after all these decades past, the common and expected ccreasing to the fabric.
 
Her face is VIBRANT with beautiful BLUE EYES that sparkle with good cheer and, of course, LOVE as she gazes up at you, and raises her arms to be picked up and hugged. She retains her original painted features. Her newly replaced irises are clear and lovely; she has a full complement of thick, brush lashes; her eyes open and close perfectly.
