Rare 1930 Effanbee LAMKINS Lambkins 16" Composition Doll

Near MINT in her ORIGINAL RARE Pink Wicker Presentation Basket
 
It's a pleasure to list another (and, alas and alack, my very last) MARVELOUS WONDER DOLL by Effanbee. This is the 16" LAMBKIN / LAMKIN from 1930 -- darling baby doll is in near MINT condition -- one of the finest I have ever seen. She comes to you in her pink cotton batiste gown, 'eiderdown' long coat and bonnet, underwear, and booties.
 
LAMBKINS is appropriately marked on the back of her neck, as spelled with a 'b', where her presentation box interestingly spelled her name without the 'b' as LAMKIN and without the 's' as well. She has 5-part composition limbs and head with a softly stuffed body that drapes and shapes to an infant's needs to fully express herself! She is SOFT, SOFT and SOFT... a very CUDDLY body. She has a non-working crier inside.
 
FACT ALERT: DID YOU KNOW... many collector's are unaware of her unusual feature -- a unique mechanism allows the doll mother to place Lambkin on her right side with HER EYES OPEN !! Lambkins can be placed in various natural positions.
 
Baby Lambkin comes wearing her pink cotton gown, slip, flannel undershirt/diaper combination, creamy white wool weave layette blanket with pastel embroidered flowers sprinkled across the background. The gown and flannel 'onesie' style flannel underwear are original to this lucky baby; the slip is replaced, and the 'eiderdown' coat and bonnet set are original Effanbee from a bit later era... but I couldn't resist dressing her in the set as it is just precious, precious, precious on her. Her flannel booties with pink silk trim are original to her.... which she will probably kick off her fat little feet when she gets excited seeing you for the first time when she comes home.

Her composition is in nearly MINT condition -- with NO CRAZING at all; she still has vivid PINK BLUSH to her paint -- GREAT COLORING -- arms and head are all original with NO TOUCH UPS and NO RESTORATIONS. Only a couple of paint rubs on her toes is all there could be to note. Her cloth body is immaculately clean as would be expected -- baby has NO odors from storage.
 
Her BLUE tin litho eyes are CLEAR and WHITE... usually the whites begin to show a green cast -- these are BEAUTIFUL! Her painted lashes and brows are no longer present, as is common (especially the brows) with these little ones.
 
Her gorgeous plump hands, feet and legs are simply adorable. NOTE she does not have the celluloid finger nails (and toenails, too!) as with the other Lambkins doll I have listed in her oval box -- this a feature Effanbee used on very special dolls in its line, NOTE her darling "gold' ring on her left hand. Absolutely amazing doll to find after more than 70 years!
 
Baby LAMBKINS sits beautifully and poses well in her INCLUDED original EFFANBEE Wicker Presentation Cradle -- included is a pink cotton lace trimmed pad with ribbon ties to keep baby safe while peacefully sleeping as you await her arrival -- charming you with her adorable face and chubby baby hands.
 
WRAPPED in her very soft wool weave blanket... all trussed up and cozy with a pink moire silk ribbon -- both ORIGINAL to this presentation... she could not be sweeter!
 
Her arm connectors work smoothly so you can raise and lower her arms in different positions; her head turns completely as well -- all adding nicely to her ability to pose and highlight her adorable features -- this baby has a LOT of CHARM and PERSONALITY and as the Effanbee slogan promises -- she is a doll to STEAL YOUR HEART.
