Original 1940s Effanbee Dy-Dee Doll Playpen in the smaller of the two sizes produced for Effanbee. It is documented in the Effanbee reference by Barbara Hilliker and Peggy Montei.
 
Measures approximately 13" square and 9.5" high off the floor. This playpen has the wooden 'ball' feet, where it has been reported that some were issued with wheels.
 
This sweet little piece of dolly nursery furniture retains its ORIGINAL BLUE RIBBONS as it was received by its original owner so many decades ago. Its distinctive brown and cream graphics are in great condition with only the smallest amount of wear. Additionally, it is FLAT and there is no warping, which can commonly occur when not responsibly stored. The pink and blue side rails retain all their paint, with some light cosmetic wear.
 
While the playpen does not fold down for storage, it is easily disassembled down to the 4 sides, and base, whilch I will do to ensure safe shipping.
 
My own 11" mold 1 Dy-Dee baby doll is shown sitting inside quietly playing with her toys while Mom does her housework and is not included.

If you collect dolls, and most especially Dy-Dee dolls you know that space in your 'nursery' can be at a premium. But consider this... you can easily 'corral' two or three little babies inside (all cryin' to get out I expect") and they will be safe from accidents or falling over. Shame on me... I have 7 of them, both large and small :-) YOU WILL LOVE HAVING THIS DARLING PIECE OF DY-DEE history!
