Vintage 1940s Effanbee 14" Skippy "School Days" trunk set. Adorable and endearing Skippy, commonly known as Patsy's boyfriend. A wonderful addition to Effanbee's Patsy Family of dolls, this Skippy is all composition (as opposed to the earliest issue with the compo limbs and cloth stuffed body) and comes with his HUGE ALL ORIGINAL WARDROBE in his ORIGINAL vintage "school" trunk..
This set won an HONORABLE MENTION silk BLUE RIBBON (included) for contestant Mrs. J.W. Sykes at the 1944 AMERICAN HOBBY FEDERATION Pittsburgh Doll Show.

This amazing and RARE set belonged to some little girl (or boy!) back in the 1940s and what you see included here is the complete set 'as found'. Imagine the fun of having such a great boy doll and dressing him.
His marvelous two-tiered school trunk has leather handles and measures 15" x 7.25" x 7.25" -- plenty of room to add to his 'trousseau'.
Marks: Effanbee Skippy © P.L. Crosby. Composition socket head on five-piece jointed composition body, painted blonde hair with forelock curl, painted features, blue side-glancing eyes, v- shaped brows. Composition in excellent condition with only minor intermittent very light crazing; minor touch-up to fingers on his right hand.

- Genuine Effanbee 100% wool 'pea coat' with brass buttons and 'military' insignia on the left sleeve; VERY Rare STAR of DAVID embroidered on the matching beret style cap. Small hole in cap.
- Red 100% wool jacket with 2 pockets and belt TAGGED "Doll Tog / Melrose, Mass.
- Extremely rare Effanbee Skippy red plaid raincoat set -- coat, cap, belt and boots.
- Red-White-and-Blue stripe flannel bathrobe tagged "Glad Togs"
- Pair of red suede leather beaded Indian-style moccasins
- 2 felt club 'Pledge' beanies
There is a set of two antique balls, a 48-star small American flag , a pair of original cotton striped socks, black metal toy train, 2 embroidered handkerchiefs, and one each red and green small feathers (for his cap?!).
All clothing was found neatly tucked into his school trunk with tier for clothing that fits inside on top. Case has a beautiful but 'handsome and manly' floral lining.
