Vintage 1930s original Peggy Montei blond Dy-Dee from her collection, and shown on page 28 in the Dy-Dee reference book by Barbara Hilliker she inspired. This is the exact doll and clothing shown in the photo, in the box with her entire layette as received.

This 'famous' blond Dy-Dee wears the now familiar kimono jacket and lace cap that Peggy dressed her precious baby in for her photo debut. She comes with the rest of her original layette and is offered here today.

Such a speciall baby! If you have had an opportunity to read the information in the book about restoring and 'bringing back to life' the dolls Peggy worked on, then you know just how much love and attention she gave her babies. This baby was one of her special restorations and in my view, incredibly well done. Baby has had a partial restore on the back of her blond head, added brows and careful touchup to her face... so well done I didn't realize it until I went to photograph her. This is an amazing tribute to her work and love of 'all things Dy-Dee'. As a long-time friend of Peggy, we shared stories of our 'finds' over many years and I am pleased to share this one with you.

As you can see, this is the baby is wearing that fabulous outfit she is pictured in on page 28 (see second photo). Lovely! The dress is her original long white gown with slip, and it is tagged at the back seam. The little jacket and cap are homemade. The jacket is made of very fine, lightweight wool and completely lined in a pale pink silk; it has a smattering of tiny holes and the silk lining has spotting; as you can see, little of this affects the presentation as she wears it. The bonnet/cap is made of lace with blue silk ribbon ties, and lined in silk as well; the bonnet is intact as made, but the lining is spotted like the jacket... again, surely does not affect the presentation.... just gorgeous and endearing!

Baby Dy-Dee comes in her early retail presentation box with a working latch closure... rather unusual as the lion's share of this type of box has no latch. It does have discoloration to the box itself, but the inside lid graphics are clear and vibrant and unaffected.

This is a 'harder to find' blond Dy-Dee in the 15" size (the blond dolls ONLY came from the factory in the 15" size). Her rubber body is soft, has a light skin tone and has no dryness. The joints are firm and baby is able to stand (with a little help if without a stand), sit, and pose for you to really make her personality shine... no doubt she will 'Steal Your Heart'.

Baby comes with her original Effanbee long gown, slip, jacket, cap, diaper, vest (undershirt), socks, shoes, footed signature Dy-Dee "Early to Bed, Early to Rise" pajamas, pink flannel robe and SCOTTY DOG eiderdown blanket (also featured in the Dy-Dee book). All in excellent condition and all original Dy-Dee layette items (of course, excepting the jacket/cap).

Peggy also added an adorable BRACELET for Dy-Dee and that is included with your purchase, as is the vintage Cherub rattle. I am sending her home with a very special book for you to enjoy reading with her as the Christmas holiday approaches.

This is an amazing set and would be a very special addition to your Dy-Dee collection. I'm sure Peggy would be pleased I am sharing and highlighting her special baby here today.
