1930's Effanbee Original 15" Mold 1 Dy-Dee Jane in Box

This baby is a Mold 1 -- 15" Dy-Dee for those of you who follow the different factory issue dolls. Issued in the early half of the 1930s -- she has a near MINT classic rubber body; chocolate brown molded curls; beautiful blushed facial features, and stunning blue glassine eyes with bright whites -- she looks like a 'real baby'... those innocent eyes!
 
She has a GORGEOUS head -- Beautifully painted features are completely intact. Beautiful 'porcelain-like' finish to her paint... creating an almost ethereal effect to her countenance.
 
I've had several 'mint' Dy-Dee 15" dolls, but this is among the top 3 and was always one of my "keepers". Each doll carries its own unique 'personality and expression' due to the flair of the original artist's brush when applied at the factory more than 80 years ago now. This one 'has it all' in my view!
 
For those of you who are new to Dy-Dee she is a marvelous WONDER DOLL. She can drink and wet like many baby dolls, but when she wets the special valve system inside allows the moisture to leak out slowly from her backside opening just like a real baby. She is VERY HEAVILY weighted to feel like a real baby in your arms, too. Another unique feature is that you can turn her head to the side with her eyes open, and when you go to lay her down her eyes stay open. Alternatively, you can close her eyes and turn her head to keep them closed even when she is held upright. She loves to be bathed. Her special jointed system prevents water from getting inside her when bathing -- just an all-round AMAZING doll. Any little girl would be happy with a Dy-Dee of her own, how about you?
 
Dy-Dee has a beautiful head and body... nothing like that 'squeaky' sound a Dy-Dee doll's rubber joints emit when moved. These are TIGHT and pose well -- her rubber is in MINT condition -- she has beautiful, skin tone, and still firm and strong (and supple!). NO dryness at all. Her beautiful chocolate brown molded curls are just about flawless... only the very lightest of wear to the back of her head to indicate her decades of age. 
Simply beautiful, and classic Dy-Dee face with those vivid BROWN eyes. Her eyes work perfectly -- beautiful full and thick, brush lashes are all there on both eyes. Captivating.

Her original wardrobe is in CRISP, clean condition -- MINTY. The silk long coat and bonnet are the best I have seen and are TAGGED MOLLY'ES. The white organdy gown is perfect. There will be no disappointment here.
 
Her display BOX is in near MINT condition with bright clear graphics both inside and out. This is the 2nd issue box for the Mold 1 doll -- very nice to have the STAR box with the early inside cover from 1934.
