Super rare and gorgeous Platinum Blonde Effanbee Lovums variant with the Patsy Ann body.

Advertised as a Tousle Head (or Tousel) doll in the early 1930s in the FAO Schwarz catalogs. Pages 133 through 135 in the "Patsy Doll Family Encyclopedia, Vol. I" outlines the 'variant' Patsy and Patsy Ann dolls with the Lovums open-mouth head and caracul curly wig.

Includes her original and VERY RARE Effanbee Golden Heart NECKLACE.

This little girl was available in the early 30s when the NRA tag was issued (used only 2 years). I have included advertises the tousle head available with red, blonde or brown hair, and a green, blue, red or pink silk dress.

LOVUMS here came in her original pink silk dress with matching onesie. Her dress and unders had clearly never been removed, along with her shoes and socks. The store retail tag is still attached at the front. She had never been played with all these years. Her lovely dress  and unders have holes as is so common with these silk garments. The NRA tag is still crisp and firmly attached at the back bodice seam. Her shoes and socks have never been removed and are in MINT condition.

I have several Patsy Ann dresses in my dolly closet, and gave Lovums a beautiful cotton print dress, with an organdy collar, embroidered flowers and smocking. It pairs with a lovely white chemise style onesie. The sleeve on one side was repaired next to the underseam, making it a little snug to dress her, but it suits her style and coloring and she begged me to have it!

Tousle Head Lovums, as advertised, comes on the Patsy Ann body. If you have the reference book mentioned, reading about the evolution of this doll and similar variants will interest you I'm certain. This little girl is in MINT CONDITION. Her only 'flaw' is one eye has darkened. Otherwise I would call this doll a "10 out of 10" for condition. No paint wear, NO crazing. GORGEOUS long thick curls in a stunning platinum blonde. My photos show the hair more blonde that it is 'in hand'... nice shade of platinum blonde.

Historically this doll is a true GEM for any Patsy Family doll collector, given her original, albeit worn, outfit with the NRA tag, store tag, golden necklace and opulant curls... well, you just have to have her, do you not?
