Very Rare Vintage 1930s Madame Alexander LITTLE CHERUB doll -- All Original and Unplayed with Condition
MINT and adorable Little Cherub is just 11" -- perfect cabinet-size baby doll... surely eveyone has room for 'just one more..."
TAGGED "LIttle Cherub" ORIGINAL CLOTHING
LITTTLE CHERUB is in mint condition with absolutely NO CRAZING anywhere; she comes dressed in her complete original outfit -- pink cotton organdy dress, matching bonnet, white cotton slip with attached panties, silk socks and white oilcloth shoes. Her clothing is in mint condition with only minor age patina to the fabric. The dress and bonnet fabric is crisp and as much like new as anything can be after almost 90 years! I have not seen a finer MA Cherub doll.
I've seen this same doll without the side-glancing eyes, in an identical blue dress that was simply tagged 'Cherub', where this tagged dress calls her name out as 'Little Cherub."
She has the most impish countenance. Her pretty blue side-glancing painted eyes spell 'trouble' if you ask me. The painted features are as close to perfect as I can imagine with no crazing at all. All paint is even in tone and intact. She has rosy cheeks and her hair has the most darling molded curls.
Many doll collectors are familiar with Madame Hendren's Little Cherub doll created by Harriet Flanders of the same era. This little Madame Alexander Litttle Cherub is less known and in this condition a prize addition to any serious composition doll collector.
