RARE 1930s Effanbee 9" Dy-Dee WEE Baby Doll in her retail 'shoebox' display~
 
This little Dy-Dee is the absolute smallest of the Dy-Dee family dolls... a diminutive 9" and the 'darling' of the family. Very rarely does this doll come up for sale, but here is a beautiful example of this sweet baby in her layette box and ALL ORIGINAL wardrobe.
 
Dy-Dee WEE has a perfect complexion... no rubs or missing paint to her face, and her dark chocolate brown molded curls show barely any wear, even to the backside... there is no disappointment here. She has blue tin-litho eyes with a full complement of lashes on the right side, and abbreviated lashes on the left.
 
Her original rubber body has long ago deteriorated as they all seem to have been in this particular size. Baby chose to keep her original body as the limbs move freely and her head turns to allow her to be dressed and pose nicely.
 
She comes in her original 'shoebox' type retail display box that does show wear, but sturdy to hold baby and displays nicely with her little blue-and-white Esmond eiderdown blanket and Wee nestled in her box.
 
WEE has a wonderful originsl wardrobe -- her signaute drop-seat pajamas, white flannel pinning blanket, white cotton organdy long gown and matching slip and bonnet, pink silk crepe long coat (fragile), white cotton birdseye weave diaper, undershirt, white cotton long day gown with embroidered collar and slip, bib, pink '3-button' collar dress with matching bonnet, pink cotton batiste dress; and a blue-and-cream wool sweater; all are factory original Effanbee Dy-Dee Wee clothing. I have added a pair of vintage crochet booties. All clothing in played with to Mint condition with no issues unless noted -- no stains, no weaknesses to the fabric. Her clothing includes:
 
She will come with a darling celluloid bunny rabbit rattle that is sized just right for baby; and, a small glass nursing bottle.
