Darling and popular 18” Baby Dear doll, first issued in 1960, designed by Eloise Wilkins.
Gorgeous little baby face with light blonde hair, clean body, and ALL ORIGINAL -- her stuffing allows her head to drape and place her in adorable poses. She has a sweet baby smell. If you have ever tried to photograph and ‘capture’ the true color of a Baby Dear’s hair, you know it depends on the lighting and angle; this baby has pretty light blonde hair… not so much the reddish cast some of my pictures show. This happy baby is in excellent condition — fat and sassy, she sits up comfortably and poses ‘oh so many ways’. She is such a beauty I thought it would be fun to see her shine once again. Her hair is clean and bright as it was when she was born.
Included layette:
- Blue and white print cotton knit kimono jacket, very much like the original Vogue 'rosebud' design.
- Beautiful vintage 1950s white cotton batiste day gown with a newly made bonnet that matches perfectly -- darling embroidered flowers are sprinkled down the front placket of her dress; it closes with little tiny buttons.
- Blue cotton bloomers/diaper cover
- Darling BABY bib with bluebird appliques
- New white cotton knit footed pants
- White cotton knit side-tie undershirt
- Vintage pink pointelle knit hat
- Vintage 1950s bottle holder set
Baby Dear comes to you immaculately clean and fresh
All outfits in excellent, clean and pressed MINT condition ready for play and display... although she prefers to be cuddled.
IF you collect these little darlings, you know they are much like potato chips, and cannot be resisted or denied. Dress them often, as they look charming and enjoy being fussed over."
