RARE --1930s Effanbee EARLY SUGAR BABY 18" Composition Doll
 
This is a wonderful 18" -- one of the LARGER SIZES made -- Effanbee SUGAR Baby composition and cloth doll from the 1930's.
 
She comes dressed in her ORIGINAL classic pink "3-button flounce collar' dress, matching bonnet and original slip; replaced booties. Her dress is not the bright crisp pink it once must have been, but overall nice for display; I have replaced the elastic in the sleeves and the edging of the back of one sleeve I have mended. This dress set is very similar to the same one Dy-Dee collectors love.
 
SUGAR BABY is in played with but excellent condition... Her composition is smooth with no crazing and retains a healthy pink glow. Her soft cloth body has a fair bit of light age spotting/patina to it, but firm and all limbs move as they should. All facial features are clearly defined with beautiful nice coloring. Her only restoration is a set of replaced irises; her lashes are about 80% retained and not particularly noticeable nor distracting.
