This is one of several sizes made of this most highly sought after baby doll -- especially at this time of year with the Christmas holiday approaching! This is the FAMOUS Ideal baby doll who Natalie Wood cuddled in the movie -- The Miracle on 34th Street. All of us grew up watching this film and came away with "I Believe" no matter what age we were at the time. A warm reminder that our pure, childhood thoughts and dreams are worthwhile.
This is a GORGEOUS Baby! These dolls were made by Ideal Toy Co and marketed under the name "Baby Beautiful". They came in a wide range of sizes as well as with brown eyes (this one), or blue eyes.
Baby Beautiful is GORGEOUS in her equally gorgeous ORIGINAL white cotton organdy dress, and her pink viyella fabric coat and bonnet set. This outfit is original to this lovely baby... only missing her slip and pantaloons; I have replaced the slip with a new, old-store-stock Feltman Bros. made of bright, crisp white cotton with lace trim. The organdy dress is in excellet condition with no stains or tears; I made a small, but discrete, repair to the seam in the back. I have included a lovely white organdy and embroiderey with lace. Her coat is made of English Viyella fabric (a lovely blend of wool and cotton) and trimmed in silk embroidery. As she was missing her pantaloons, I will send her home with some approprate undergarment for modesty's sake. I have added a pair of SILK crocheted booties that she is very proud of having.
Baby herself is in MINT CONDITION having been fully restored. Lovely brow eyes open and close perfectly. Her cloth body is strong and intact with overall darkening/patina to the fabric; I have added a nice undershirt to offset the darkening from showing through her lovely clothing. These dolls are very hard to find in this condition in any size... WOULDN'T SHE LOOK FABULOUS ... GREAT HOLIDAY CHRISTAS PRESENT!
