Baby Buttercup has BEAUTIFUL and vibrant coloring in keeping with her 1930s origin -- perfect mint restored condition to last many more decades.
 
This is a mid-size issue of this doll measuring approximately 16" high; she has cute drawn up chubby 'baby legs'. She has a composition flange head, full arms and bent baby legs on a cloth body with a non-working crier inside. She is immaculately clean without any odors; her cloth body has virtually NO WEAR. She is jointed at the shoulders and hips. She has NO imperfections. Buttercup has PERFECT molded painted blonde hair, and a closed open mouth. NO CRAZING AT ALL -- NONE ANYWHERE -- ON THIS BEAUITIFUL BABY -- with smooth, even toned composition. The back of her hands and knees have a healthy glow of blush.
 
She is is marked appropriately on the nape of her neck. Her ORIGINAL BLUE tin litho eyes are perfect, opening and closing as they should; she is an early edition of Buttercup, and does not, therefore, have the brush lashes of the later editons. All painted features are clearly defined and with just enough blush to compliment her creamy 'porcelain-like' complexion.
 
Baby Buttercup's gown is vintage mommy-made from a well documented 1930s pattern, a vintage slip, and blue wool booties. Her simple but 'baby sweet' dress is made of white cotton batiste with French val lace trim.
 
I have added a more recently made crisp, teal blue taffeta coat and bonnet set in pristine condition. Howevwer, the maker erred in measuring the width of the wrist cuff, so I have added small buttons and elastic loop closure for a better fit; coat does not quite close at the top so I have left it open. The coat set is gorgeous with her matching booties and blue eyes.
 
The historical value and short production run of this darling Horsman composition doll (just over 1 year) lend this little cutie all the desirable characteristics of a highly collectible doll. Truly a lovely doll to add to your composition doll collection.
