Beautiful vintage 1920s Effanbee 20" Lovums composition and cloth body baby doll.
 
Near mint condition dressed in her original slip and dress of white batiste. She wears her early Effanbee pin, same vintage wool booties, and a fabulous Viyella short coat and matching bonnet. The viyella is a European fabric blend of wool and fine cotton, creating a beautiful drape to the garment. Both bonnet and jacket are finished in gorgeous fine lace. Lovum's slip is in excellent condition with a small hole made at the back where the pin held the fabric together. The dress has a few tiny holes in the folds and the lace has a fair amount of intermittent separation at the hem, but does not show when displayed. The coat and bonnet set are in minty condition with just one tiny pinhole in the left sleeve, and the silky ribbon on the bonnet have been replaced long ago. The wool booties had a fair amount of separation and I painstakingly repaired them... I could have given her another pair of booties, but these matched her coat and looked so nice I thought the task worth completing.
 
LOVUMS herself is just about mint condition. She has a short handful of tiny flecks of paint loss to her head, and one of her baby fingers has been repainted... not a great job but nice enough. If wanted buyer might ask me to do the job better at no additional cost... I just didn't see it until photographing Lovums today. All her composition is smooth and a lovely pink color, with no paint loss, and a short handful of very light craze lines on her arms is all the mention -- Lovums is ALL ORIGINAL with NO RESTORATIONS or repaints at all. Just an all-around perfectly beautiful example of this marvelous HAPPY BABY.
 
She has a high color face with all painted features intact. Her blue eyes open and close properly and she has her full compliment of brush lashes....
