This is possibly the MOST MINT and ALL ORIGINAL Early Effanbee Composition doll I have ever seen. There is NOT A MARK ON HER, with NO CRAZING, NO PAINT LOSS and almost nothing to show her age. One eye's real hair lashes are intermittently shorter is all I can point out to you. Her clothing has no weak spot, mends, or tears... nothing to report at all anywhere that I can see. Her composition appears perfect down to her gorgeous yellow molded head. Her body is clean and stain free. No odors or other unpleasantries -- any collector of Effanbee dolls will be thrilled and delighted with this one.
 
This doll is truly a MUSEUM PIECE and you will likely never see another is such amazing condition.
 
Originally sold in 1923 ... she is almost 100 years old~
 
She is approximately 21" long, and measures 15" high while sitting. Her baby bent legs are darling and she loves to perch on the edge of a sturdy shelf with them dangling over the side... LOTS OF PERSONALITY to this dear one!
 
Description in Patricia N. Schoonmaker's definitive publication on early Effanbee dolls: "Effanbee Dolls the Formative Years 1910 - 1929" states the following:
 
21" Mama doll; composition shoulder head, cloth body, composition arms, composition  bent legs to the knees; molded hair (came in mohair wigged version as well); blue metal eyes, brown eyebrows, real hair upper eyelashes and painted lower ones; open mouth with two teeth and inset celluloid tongue; marked at the top of each arm: "Effanbee," wearing cotton bonnet and dress trimmed with lace .... real leather booties. Marked on the back of shoulder plate: Effanbee
 
This particular version has Effanbee in Script on one arm.
 
This lovely doll was sold at CHRISTMAS in 1923 wearing her very appropriate RED dress and matching bonnet. Underneath she has her gauze diaper and cotton knit vest (undershirt). Her feet wear her rayon socks and REAL LEATHER moccasins.
 
I sold this doll years ago now, and bought her back from my buyer a few years ago because I loved her so much. Now is the time for me to part with her once again, for the final time and just PERFECT TIMING for your holiday wishes to come true.
