Darling and popular 18” Baby Dear doll, first issued in 1960, designed by Eloise Wilkins.
Lovely healthy glow to her lovely face with pretty blonde hair with red highlights, a clean body, and a pretty layette. She sits up comfortably poses well to enhance her sweet and expressive personality. If you have ever tried to photograph and ‘capture’ the true color of a Baby Dear’s hair, you know it depends on the lighting and angle; this baby has pretty blonde hair… not so much the reddish cast some of my pictures show... photos of her hair are closest to the right shade 'in hand'.This happy baby is in excellent condition — fat and sassy, she sits up comfortably and poses ‘oh so many ways’. She is dressed and ready for SPRING parties in a GORGEOUS handmade SILK SHANTUNG kimono robe with matching bonnet; and after a long hot day of fun and play, she can rest in her cotton print 'madeline' flannel wrap; new old-store-stock rayon undershirt; and crisp pink taffeta bloomers. I have added a lovely pair of booties to keep her adorable feet warm.
- Beautiful creamy white silk shantung layette kimono with matching bonnet -- this unique and gorgeous outfit was lovingly made with every attention to detail -- baby pink smocking with pearls and lace on both bonnet and robe
- Pink crochet booties
- Pink taffeta bloomers
- Pink, new old-store-stock rayon undershirt
- Pink flocked nylon organdy party dress
All her clothing is 'new' as in never worn or very lightly used, so everything is clean and wonderful!
All outfits in excellent, clean and pressed MINT condition ready for play and display... although she prefers to be cuddled.
This little sweetie pie is absolutely delightful with BABY FINE hair and it is SUPER shiny and clean and loves to be combed and styled. She has a little squeaker inside her pinkish body so she can cry out to you when needed.
"I had no intentions of parting with any of my rather large collection of these sweet dollies, but if you collect them, you know they are much like potato chips, and cannot be resisted or denied. Dress them often, as they look charming and enjoy being fussed over."
