Darling and popular 18” Baby Dear doll, first issued in 1960, designed by Eloise Wilkins.
Gorgeous healthy glow to her lovely face with pretty blonde hair, an immaculately clean body. She sits up comfortably poses well to enhance her sweet and expressive personality. If you have ever tried to photograph and ‘capture’ the true color of a Baby Dear’s hair, you know it depends on the lighting and angle; this baby has pretty blonde hair… not so much the reddish cast some of my pictures show... photos of her hair are closest to the right shade 'in hand'.This happy baby is in excellent condition — fat and sassy, she sits up comfortably and poses ‘oh so many ways’. She is such a beauty I thought it would be fun to see her shine once again, so I have dressed her ready for EASTER and SPRING parties, and after a long hot day of fun and play, she can rest in her cozy white cotton undershirt with side snaps, and pretty baby pink flannel diaper. I have added a lovely pair of booties to keep her adorable feet warm. She comes with her chenille teddy bear to hold tight all through the night.
- Beautiful all cotton dimity print dress with matching underslip and bonnet -- this is a vintage 1940s Effanbee dress set that fits baby perfectly. Note the little flower pot shaped pockets have 'flowers' growing out of them.
- Pink crochet booties
- Newly made pink flannel diaper with cotton French Val Lace trim
- White side-snap undershirt
- DARLING pink blanket with embroidery to wrap baby in for snuggles and warmth
All her clothing is 'new' as in never worn or used, so everything is clean and wonderful!
All outfits in excellent, clean and pressed MINT condition ready for play and display... although she prefers to be cuddled.
This little sweetie pie is absolutely delightful with all her hair intact and it is shiny and clean and loves to be combed and styled. She has a little squeaker inside her pinkish body so she can cry out to you when needed.
"I had no intentions of parting with any of my rather large collection of these sweet dollies, but find a Baker’s Dozen might be a little much. If you collect them, you know they are much like potato chips, and cannot be resisted or denied. Dress them often, as they look charming and enjoy being fussed over."
