1930s Vintage 19" Rare Madame Hendren BABY HENDREN doll. All Original with TWO original outfits.
Happy and sweet describe this darling baby's countenance with her big open smile and sparkling blue eyes.
ALL ORIGINAL -- NOT REPAINTED -- VERY Rare to find this issue doll in such MINTY condition.
This adorable Baby Hendren comes dressed in her original TWO ORIGINAL TAGGED factory outfiuts -- romper set and pink organdy dress and bonnet . Her romper is made of soft baby pink cotton romper, and topped with her white with pink 'Baby Hendren' bib, and original pom-pom oilcloth shoes and cotton socks. For special occasions -- Valentine's Day, of course -- she wears her original pink organdy dress and matching bonnet, with replaced slip. Both outfits have their factory tags.
Her clothing is in excellent condition with no stains. Romper is tagged at the back neck. I have replaced the original stretched elastic with new at the leg openings to ensure a good style and fit. Her Hendren bib has some wear to the fabric as can be seem in photos... hard to see and definitely not distracting, but worth mentioning. The organdy dress set is in MINT condition with perfect original pink silk ribbons.
Her facial character and the quality of her composition mirror the Effanbee Bubbles dolls that were so popular in the 1920s through the 1930s -- big smile, blond high-relief molded curls, molded tongue and two white shiny 'baby' teeth, and gorgeous BLUE tin litho sleep eyes with natural hair brush lashes; lashes on right eyes are slightly shortened near the inner eye. Her entire head is just about mint with barely any sign of her age of near 90 years now with little to NO CRAZING... just amazing condition.
Although this purchase is for the 19" Baby Hendren doll only, one of my photos here show both this 19" and my other 22" Baby Hendren dolls that are available... don't they look lovely together?!
