Vintage 15" Effanbee Dy-Dee Jane mold 2 doll from the 1930's to 1940's issue -- complete with Basic Layette, DISPLAY BOX and HANG TAG.
 
This gorgeous baby is a near mint condition Mold 2 -- 15" Dy-Dee for those of you who follow the different factory issue dolls. She is from the late 1930s to early 1940s and she has a GORGEOUS molded painted head that is in PERFECT  condition -- all other painted features are intact... outstanding!
 
For those of you who are new to Dy-Dee she is a marvelous WONDER DOLL. She can drink and wet like many baby dolls, but when she wets the special valve system inside allows the moisture to leak out slowly from her backside opening just like a real baby. She is VERY HEAVILY weighted to feel like a real baby in your arms, too. Another unique feature is that you can turn her head to the side with her eyes open, and when you go to lay her down her eyes stay open. Alternatively, you can close her eyes and turn her head to keep them closed even when she is held upright. She BLOWS BUBBLES and loves to be bathed. Her special jointed system prevents water from getting inside her when bathing -- just an all-around AMAZING doll. Any little girl would be happy with a Dy-Dee of her own, how about you?
 
Dy-Dee has an OUTSTANDING head and body... nothing like the 'squeaky' sound a Dy-Dee doll's rubber joints emit when moved. These are firm and pose well -- her rubber is in near MINT condition with just a small bit of crazing at the lower shoulders/and at the head in the back -- she has been cleaned and has beautiful skin tone, and still firm and strong (and supple).
 
PERFECT RUBBER EARS -- light colored and NO dryness and NO CRAZING. Supple and lovely!
 
Simply beautiful, and classic Dy-Dee face with those BIG eyes -- all original and just perfect. Her eyes are EXTRA large as seen on some of these dolls and work perfectly -- beautiful full and thick, jet black brush lashes. Captivating eyes in a bright shade of GOLDEN BROWN.
 
SO hard to find these girls in their original display box and layette! She comes with her Effanbee factory ORIGINAL DY-DEE basic wardrobe: original pair of Signature Dy-Dee drop-seat pajamas -- "Early to Bed, Early to Rise"; pink and blue on white knit booties; cotton vest and birdseye weave diaper.
 
Her included ESMOND baby blanket is the "hard to find" blue and white with a baby and KITTY KATS playing in the foreground.

The Dy-Dee display box is the 'shoebox' style with an attached lid that raises to make a lovely display background when you sit baby in the box with her treasures all around her. Box is in excellent condition with bright graphics.
