This lovely 15" Dy-Dee is the third mold of the evolution of the Dy-Dee baby doll... a very big part of Effanbee's "Dolls that Steal your Heart" marketing campaign. The mold 3 itself went through at least three versions... this being the EARLY issue -- baby still has the very large, metal eyes -- these in a VIVID shade of GREEN -- with brighter whites than the later issue where the eyes were made smaller and of plastic where there is a tendency for them to turn yellow or greenish instead of remaining white.
 
Baby's HAIR is something to see -- beautiful THICK and luscious 'naturally curly' hair is a pretty shade of auburn with deep red highlights... perfect match to her green eyes... is she of Irish descent perhaps? Lucky baby is all I can say...
 
Dy-Dee Jane comes with all you see pictured... and MORE, as I forgot to add in her original Esmond blanket which will surely have to come home with her.
 
There are several outfits: including her ORIGINAL Effanbee DROP-SEAT blue with roses flannel pajamas; original Dy-Dee pink and white polished cotton dress with matching bonnet; expertly and exceptionally made blue organdy dress, slip, bloomers, coat and matching bonnet; beautifully tailored and embroidered pink organdy sunsuit with matching wide-brimmed bonnet; white single-button Dy-Dee undershirt; and birdseye weave diaper. I've added a pair of white cotton 'bobby sox' and a New, Old-Store-Stock pair of blue stripe rayon socks.
 
Accessories include a Dr. Blumers' soapbox; small canister of powder; faux 'silver' Dy-Dee spoon; original glass Dy-Dee nursing bottle with complete and intact rubber nipple (break down one side, but perfect display); Dy-Dee Diary; and her Esmond 'eiderdown' baby blanket.
 
BABY herself is in just about MINT condition. Her face has super vibrant ALL ORIGINAL color with no restorations or repaints or touchups... notice her positively FEVER checks. Big green eyes with a full complement of thick and even brush lashes open and close freely. All painted features are intact. There are NO rubs to her face. Baby's rubber inset ears are perfect with no dryness or cracking... always a source of concern to a "new mother". Dy-Dee Jane's body is near mint with light even coloring; still squeezably soft, with only the underside of one finger revealing her almost 80 years since she was 'born'.
 
I'm also including her ORIGINAL display 'shoebox' which is in good condition... some like to display baby sitting inside her box with toys all around.
 
All clothing in MINT, like NEW condition but for the original pink and white dress where the fabric at the hemline has faded out in a couple of spots... but it 'disappears' into the folds when displayed. The pink sunsuit is "to die for".
