1930s FAO Schwarz Christening Set for 20" Effanbee Dy-Dee Lou
 
Breathtaking silk ensemble for Dy-Dee's christening. A set to be handed down to all her little sisters, I suppose, as a family heirloom.
 
Luscious baby pink silk coat has finely tailored cut-lace trim, delicate silk embroidery and piping -- the fabric lends its soft 'hand' to drape and flow with the utmost elegance. Matching bonnet has 'mountains' of ruffling, silk ribbon trim and ties -- the crowning touch.
 
Underneath is the crisp, white cotton organdy gown with baby blue and pink silk trim at the bodice. A plain white cotton slip nestles underneath.
 
Coat, bonnet and dress are in near MINT condition except for one tiny pinhole in the coat fabric at the back, and some wear to the ties... the ties being too nice to merit replacement where I might have done so otherwise.
 
Included is baby's faux silver rattle/whistle with purchase.
